Introducing PTSD.com: Finding a way forward

A golden sun above rolling hills and a winding path toward an open horizon.

October 23, 2026, New York, NY — MentalHealth.com announces the launch of PTSD.com, a free mental health education resource offering trauma guidance and screening tools. Developed to help people understand trauma and improve quality of life, PTSD.com advances MentalHealth.com’s commitment to person-centered systems of care.

Trauma can change how people feel, relate with others, and move through everyday life. Clear information can help people recognize these effects and consider when professional support may be helpful. For families and friends, that understanding can also make it easier to support someone they love.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, about 1 in 20 U.S. adults experience PTSD in any given year. Worldwide, the World Health Organization estimates that roughly 1 in 26 people have experienced PTSD at some point in their lives.

“Helping people understand trauma and its effects is an important part of mental health education,” said Patrick Nagle, Co-Founder of MentalHealth.com. “PTSD.com brings that knowledge to the public so people can better understand their experiences, relate with others, and make informed decisions about care.”

PTSD.com offers research-backed screening tools: PC-PTSD-5, PCL-5, ITQ, GPS, and SPTSS. These self-report measures explore PTSD symptoms, complex PTSD patterns, and broader trauma-related concerns.

The launch extends MentalHealth.com’s work in mental health education for people affected by trauma.
